Introducing Electude Connect
The Electude e-learning used and trusted by over 50,000 instructors worldwide has been connected with our own custom designed and seamlessly integrated training hardware. Developed with the student in mind, Electude Connect has a straightforward, intuitive layout making automotive systems easy to decipher. Components are identified by numbers established by the International Standard IEC/ISO 81346 series. This allows Connect to be universally understood across all languages, further eliminating any obstacles during students’ learning process.
As students complete each Electude lesson module and learn to use the associated Electude Connect training aid, their knowledge is reinforced with hands-on, discovery-based activities that close the gap between theoretical exercises and real-world experience.

T-Varia Startermotor provides a fully functional cutaway starter motor where students learn to connect, test, measure and diagnose the basic vehicle starter system. They learn to recognize components, their function and working principles. The student also learns to use a diagnostic flowchart and troubleshoot system failures. The system failures can be activated by using a fault-switch box with 6 predefined faults.
Insulation resistance box
The best last stop before performing the measurement on a real vehicle. The insulation resistance box is one of our best examples of how Electude closes the gap between theory and practice. The insulation resistance box includes a prepared High Voltage cable as if it had been disassembled from the vehicle by a colleague, just a minute ago. The student has to check and assess the cable on insulation resistance using an insulation meter such as a Bosch FSA 050. Evaluating the High Voltage system on insulation is a necessary common measurement after repairs to a High Voltage system.
Offering the students the best guidance in their transfer from theory to daily tasks in a practical environment. That is what Electude had in mind when developing the courseware for the High Voltage Trainer. Students can experience fault behaviour on topics such as insulation resistance and potential equalisation in a completely safe set up. New on the High Voltage Trainer is the diagnostic search mode, which provides the student of instant feedback on the Trainer when using one of our twenty e-learning guided fault-finding modules. Before performing those technical measurements, the Trainer must be de-energized, just as if it is a real vehicle. There is even a module for (technical) emergency service personal, they learn how a High Voltage system reacts in different situations and how to de-energize a High Voltage System.
Vernier Caliper Box
Our Vernier Caliper Box teaches and then reinforces practical measurement skills. The package includes a ruler, a Vernier caliper and three measuring objects. When combined with e-learning from Electude, students are able to independently practice common measuring methods for reading and recording internal and external dimensions.
Our Viscosity Box training aid helps you teach the principles of viscosity through e-learning and hands-on experiments. The package includes a stopwatch and three cylinders, each containing a different type of automotive oil. Students measure the viscosity of oil at different temperatures and witness how the viscosity index fluctuates from one type of oil to the next.
T-Varia Connect creates a complete learning environment by combining our hands-on lighting system training aid with Electude’s advanced e-learning. The solution includes three panels with controls and front and rear lighting; enhancement modules for basic circuits, relay circuits, wipers, and trailers can be added to enhance the package.
T-Varia Engine Management
The T-Varia Engine Management training aid includes components of a multi-port injection system (MPI), a turbo diesel injection system (TDI) and a direct petrol injection system (FSI). Electude lesson modules teach the basics of each, followed by hands-on experience with different sensors and actuators. Using the included multimeters, oscilloscope and diagnostic testers, students also master parts identification and system checks.
Basic Electrical Training Aid
Our Basic Electrical Training aid combined with e-learning modules provide a dynamic way to teach basic electrical theory and diagnosis. A thorough review of the interaction of electrical principles and types of circuits in modern, networked systems is followed by hands-on, practical assignments that train students how to build circuits and take measurements to solve real-world problems.
Electric Motors Training Aid
Students of all levels will benefit from our integrated online and hands-on learning solution for electric motors. Using four types of motors, students progress from learning component functions, to assembly of the motors, and ultimately, to application. Self-paced online lessons combine photo-realistic visuals, text and questions to help students identify different types of motors, their components and operation, plus how to use the training aid itself. Tracking every keystroke, the system measures mastery of the content real-time, providing constant feedback to the student and instructor. We’ve also included all the motors and generators critical to today’s automotive industry, with an operating range of 0 to 24V.
Lock-out Training Aid
This tabletop unit teaches learners the properties of high voltage, use of high voltage components, vehicle shut down, identification of damaged cables, and activation of airbags in a collision. The practical activities included teach use of the training aid as well as identification of parts, connecting the power supply, identifying a torn cable, switching power off, measuring to ensure discharge, switching power back on, and identifying SRS deployment. Preliminary theory included covers working on hybrid vehicles, connecting, and disconnecting of high voltage vehicles. Equipment included: high voltage accessory set, power supply unit and TS10 cable.
MRE Training Aid
This blended e-learning and mechanical trainer package introduces students to common speed sensor operation and diagnostics. Self-paced online lessons combine photo- realistic visuals -including a virtual oscilloscope, text, and questions – to guide learners in identifying and understanding resistors, signals, and modulation. Practical assignments teach the use of the MRE mechanical trainer itself, which consists of a magnetic ring and three MRE sensors found in typical vehicles. Students will practice measuring generated signals, interpreting deviations and diagnosing faults.
Multimeter Training Aid
Electude’s self-paced online lessons combine photo-realistic visuals, text and questions to guide students to an understanding of basic relays and circuits, common faults and diagnostics. Tracking every keystroke, the system measures mastery of the content real-time, providing constant feedback to the student and instructor. Online lessons prepare the student for success in the use of the mechanical training aid and three circuits: basic, relay and electronic. Each circuit has multiple built-in failures activated by the rotary knob. Using the V-14 diagnostic method, students measure voltages, identifying the reason for faults.
Serial Communication Training Aid
Our hands-on automotive Bus Systems Basic training aid combined with state-of-the art e-learning solution takes students from the basics to an advanced level understanding of networked systems in modern vehicles. Photo-realistic 3D graphics with brief overview text and assessment questions engage students with discovery-based learning about parallel communications, CAN bus systems, serial communications, transmission lines, network configuration and testing, and measuring with oscilloscopes.
Actuators Training Aid
Electude’s lesson modules teach the basics of circuits and actuators and their purpose in a modern vehicle. Using the actuator training aid and matching Electude activity modules, guide students as they practice connecting components using the included wiring set. Students become familiar with and build various circuits, and perform relevant measurement on actuators and/or semi-conductors step-by-step, reinforcing their understanding of the operation of circuits and their components.
Sensors Training Aid
A comprehensive blended learning experience that teaches the basics of sensors as well as the use of the training aid and hands-on activities. Students follow Electude lessons in order to build and perform measurements on a variety of circuits and sensors. It provides all the needed components including a corresponding wiring set allowing components to be connected.
Proline CAN-BUS Lighting
Students learn the most important parts of automotive lighting systems with the combination of Electude e-learning and the Proline CAN-BUS lighting training aid panel. While the modules teach the basics of CAN-BUS and lighting, the training aid uses bridge plugs with measuring tape to enable individual line sections to be checked, including each switch, pin on the control unit (break out box), output component, and bus section.
Toyota Prius 3
Electude’s integrated Toyota Prius 3 training program combines state-of-the-art e-learning with a faulty Prius 3. Ten predefined faults help students understand how and why hybrid vehicles work, as well as how to diagnose and repair these vehicles. Tests, photo-realistic graphics and questions guide students in the basic components of hybrid vehicles, including drive types, hybrid battery (NiMh), ECVT drive train, and safety procedures. Using the provided break-out box for the power control module, the high-voltage battery and other measurement points, students can complete diagnostic tasks independently, solving common problems on their own.
Toyota Prius 3 Plug-in
Electude’s integrated Toyota Prius 3 Plug-in training program combines state-of-the-art e-learning with a faulty Prius 3 Plug-in. Sixteen predefined faults help students understand how and why plug-in hybrid vehicles work, as well as how to diagnose and repair these vehicles. Tests, photo-realistic graphics and questions guide students in the basic components of plug-in hybrid vehicles, including drive types, hybrid battery (Li-ion), onboard charging system, ECVT drive train, and safety procedures. Using the provided break-out box for the power control module, the high-voltage battery management system and other measurement points, students can complete diagnostic tasks independently, solving common problems on their own.
Using the Volkswagen e-up! during hands-on training sessions saves you time to support and engage students who need your additional attention. Students are guided in topics such as: inverter, DC/DC converter, electrification of the HVAC system, and many more important topics related to electrical vehicles. The package also includes a comprehensive teacher’s guide that documents the simulated faults, modules with measuring assignments and guided diagnostic tasks of the VW e-up!. The preparation of the high-voltage system and applied break-out boxes are carefully designed to protect students at all times, creating a safe learning environment that maximizes the learning experience.
